A project Synopsis: what is Lucidity?

Lucidity is a Action adventure game, where you take the role of Jake, a Lucid Dreamer, to explore Dream worlds and defeat imaginative, anthropomorphic creatures.

❋ Game Design

We blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect—so the experience feels both focused and fluid.

❋ Collaborative Energy

Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself.

❋ World Development

Led by experienced guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.

❋ Animation and Cutscene work

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.

The story of Lucidity.

Lucidity began development in mid 2024, with the idealized release date of 2025. Lucidity is a game that myself and my father developed with the intention of releasing the game on steam. We had big ideas and ambition for the game.

In 2025, My father and I attended Unreal Fest, in Orlando FL, where we met some great folks, some of these we ended up bringing along for additional support and development for the project.

Development was busy but going relatively smoothly. But there was one thing that we we’re not able to solve, and that is Gameplay Animation. While we had a variety of animation resource inside the project, the animation work itself, was too much for me to handle. And at the time, we could not afford to hire a game play animator that would be able to animate all of the characters that we needed While my father was working on Animation in general, it was for cutscene work and not work of the actual game play animation that was needed.

The project ballooned in size as we continued to add ideas. In late 2025, I discovered the realization that with the resources available to us and the time that we had, to release in time, I made the difficult decision to stop development of the game in September of 2026. As much we enjoyed the game and the concept, We we’re far from being able to release the game in a state that we would want to

What did we learn from Lucidity. A lot. A lot about development, a lot about developer relations, project management These lessons we are taking forward with us into our future games and projects. These lessons we will remember as we move forward with our next games.

Our current project, Octo Reticula, we are excited about. We feel that it will be a fun puzzle experience that those will enjoy and want to be a part of.

As for project climb, it is very early in development but I’m personally excited to be working on it. The idea of the game is simple, you climb and earn upgrades. These upgrades improve you’re character as you get to the top of the mountian. I plan on releasing it withing the year of 2026, as well as octo reticuila in 2026 as well.

Blueshift studios is also interested in working with you! As developers, we want to help you’re project shine and be the best that it can. Contact us for details regarding contract work with us.

What we learned and moving forward

Project Lucidity was a fantastic expirement in learning and development. I was fortunate enough to be handed an oppertunity to develop a game full time with a variety of resources.

To me, I learned a lot about what to plan for development with the resources available. I learned practices in communication with developers and optimization specialists. Additional skills such as time management, and resource allocation as well.

All of these skills I am taking into consideration moving forward.
